The WIC Week “Fundraiser Benefitting DIY Girls and Girls in STEM” is an opportunity to support and fund DIY Girls, an organization providing after-school and summer programs that provide hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) experiences for girls. Girls learn technical skills and apply them by creating their own creative projects and inventions. 50% of the proceeds of this fundraiser will go to DIY Girls. Funds raised from this event will also benefit NAWIC LA’s very own Girls in STEM Scholarship Fund. NAWIC LA awards the Girls in STEM Scholarship to girls pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to increase the future representation of women in the construction industry.  The Girls in STEM Scholarship will support college-bound high school seniors pursuing a construction career/construction related pathway at community colleges and universities. 50% of the proceeds of this fundraiser will go to Girls in STEM Scholarship fund.
